Sweezey.net

Sweezey.net has been online now since 1998 and has changed shape several times since our initial launch. Originally it was to be a gathering place for our family, as we are all members of the online world.

Since the publishing of our genealogy research, this site has become primary a research destination. With that said, we have decided to use this domain for just such a purpose.

For those of you who may be looking for Bob, Tim, Scott, or Richard... we are still around. You may now check-in with us at Sweezey.com

A recent addition to Sweezey.net is a forum area where you may share with others who are on a similar adventure. Do you have your own genealogy "most wanted" list? Perhaps you'd like to share resources, or just let us know if you found this site helpful. If so, please drop by our forums and introduce yourself.

Memberships are Free and you aren't required to register to post a message. We do, however, recommend that you register as it's a great way to keep tabs on one another.

Now that our forums are online, we have decided to disable our guestbook. For those interested in the viewing this detail, we have setup a Guestbook Archive of your comments. While this archive is largely for posterity, we also recognise that many of the comments, and contacts, may be helpful for your research as well.

A few words

The largest amount of work on this site is on the Long Island, New York Sweezeys. As this is where I was born, and my original goal was to research my family tree.

Gradually, the scope of my work expanded to other counties and states. Much of the information for our family tree outside of Long Island has come from the research of others who have been kind enough to post or publish their work.

One of my goals is to now connect every Sweezey/ Swezey/ Swasey/ Swayze/ Sweazea/ etc. to our original ancestors, brothers John & Joseph Swasey who came to this country from England sometime between 1630 and 1645. I would appreciate any help in this endeavor.
